PROFILE

About

Vincenzo “Vinx” Scorza is an electronic artist, performer and sound designer. His practice brings together electronic and electroacoustic music, improvisation, composition and sound design for theatre and performing arts. Artistic practice and technical expertise are not separate fields: instruments, devices, control systems and the conditions of live performance become part of the creative process itself.

Professionally active in live performance since 2007, he works in technical direction, sound engineering and the design and management of audio, video, lighting, software and digital control systems. Since 2012 he has collaborated continuously with Ateliersi, contributing to productions through music, electronics and sound design as well as co-technical direction, sound supervision and technical setup.

His musical research encompasses glitch, sound manipulation, electroacoustic music and experimental electronics. From 2017–2018 onwards, modular synthesizers have taken a central role in his improvisational practice: the system becomes both an instrument and an interlocutor, a space where intention, probability, control and machine autonomy interact. His performances range from abstract, exploratory sound environments to raw, high-energy dawless techno, shaped in real time.

This research extends to software and firmware development, interactive systems, immersive audio, custom audiovisual devices and instruments designed for performance, including Vinx PER|FORMER. Technological design is an integral part of his artistic work rather than a separate activity.

He is the founder of Bologna Modulare, a project dedicated to modular-synthesizer culture, live electronic performance and the development of networks between artists and communities. Under the name Black7even, he also develops digital-art research exploring glitch, generative imagery, human-machine relationships and connections between sound and image.
